Winter Recap & Spring Plans

The following blog post acts like a dev journal and also carries the personal thoughts of Elder Prince, founder of Blossomsoft Games.

Please, follow the press release section for more official news.

Not gonna ramble; gonna keep this blog post super short.

Just to be clear: everything’s good! I’ve actually been in my best dev shape over the past 40 days or so. That said, I’m still knee-deep in behind-the-scenes work, and probably will be until the end of spring.

Last winter, I spent a good chunk of my time building a game music editor. It reached a big milestone (super proud of that!), and while it’s still a work in progress, it’s already functional for editing complex Sysex-related music tasks. Seriously, I needed this tool years ago… better late than never!

ChatGPT deserves some credit. This tech is wild! It feels like I hired a top-tier dev… for about 20 bucks a month.

The next two months — May and June — will be all about game code. I’ll definitely have my hands full. I’m planning to spend a lot of time revisiting my earlier work on the Sagacythe Engine (proprietary video game engine developed by Blossomsoft), carefully breaking it down and rebuilding it into a brand-new installer. I’ll be reusing most of the core code and mechanics, but I’m redesigning the overall structure with the knowledge and experience I’ve picked up over the years; plus a nice boost from ChatGPT along the way!

P.S. “Sagacythe” comes from the Eternal Eden Reboot Edition lore. It’s the name of the special fruits found at the top of Eden Tower; Sagacythe Seeds.

That’s the plan for the next stretch: using my time as efficiently as I can to finally build the tools I need. With a little patience (and a lot of coding), I’m hoping to bring you some solid, hype-worthy trailers and real glimpses of what’s coming next.

Things are shaping up super well for what’s ahead. Here’s hoping the money side doesn’t pull any funny business.

Thanks for sticking around. Can’t wait to show you more when the time is right!
