First Milestone of the Music Engine—Done!

This post, written by Elder Prince, falls under the micro-update category.

It offers a glimpse into the work happening between major reveals—technical steps that, while less exciting, are essential to making real progress. Just long hours and geeky stuff behind the curtain!

My MIDI Solution is finally complete. Hurray! This marks the first big milestone for my game’s music editor, one of the key pieces driving my motivation to release the Reboot Edition with a 100% homemade soundtrack.

As I’ve mentioned before, I’m not using royalty-free packs, RPG Maker resources, or AI-generated music. Everything will be human-made and self-made, composed entirely by me. That’s been the plan from the very start.

That’s the only way I can reach my life goal and feel genuinely fulfilled.

Diving into MIDI protocols has been an incredibly enriching experience, and it also served as a great exercise for getting back into console programming, or even deeper PC hardware graphics programming, where working directly with bytes and registers is key.

I’ve added extra features to my MIDI tools to automate and auto-generate musical motifs. This was the main reason I wanted to create my own custom libraries; I wasn’t satisfied with the existing ones.

I’ll definitely be sharing official music tracks once I start polishing them! It’s also great motivation to produce video trailers and footages, which I’ve been holding off on because I didn’t want to make them without true, original main themes.

Exciting times ahead! That perfectly sums up my mindset right now.
