January: A Month in Review

The following blog post acts like a dev journal and also carries the personal thoughts of Elder Prince, founder of Blossomsoft Games.

What a fantastic start to the year! For the first time in years, I can finally focus on game development almost full-time. If all goes well, I’ll be able to dedicate the entire year to my projects without major roadblocks—a dream I’ve long been chasing.

January was all about catching up and setting the stage for what’s ahead.

One big change in my workflow? I’ve fully embraced Large Language Models as a development tool. Coding challenges that once felt overwhelming are now clearer than ever. Whenever I hit a roadblock, I can simply ask ChatGPT for tutorials and examples. If I need code, AI can generate it instantly, allowing me to refine and modify it as needed.

This has been especially useful when tackling advanced graphical rendering, data structures, and algorithms—not to mention implementing the right design patterns for each context. It’s an incredible asset, but let me be clear: AI is a helper, not a replacement. Creativity and control remain entirely in my hands.

After nearly four years on hiatus due to financial struggles, I have a lot to catch up on. It’s time to revisit some major projects:

  • Sagacythe Engine — the game editor for Eternal Eden Reboot.
  • RGSS++ Framework — a complete rework of the RPG Maker VX Ace base code.
  • Hallelujah Add-ons — logic scripts for the next Eternal Eden games.

There’s a long road ahead, but I’m more motivated than ever to bring these projects back to life.
