Siris, a Powerful Dev Tool

This post, written by Elder Prince, falls under the micro-update category.

It offers a glimpse into the work happening between major reveals—technical steps that, while less exciting, are essential to making real progress. Just long hours and geeky stuff behind the curtain!

Alongside the Sagacythe Engine (Blossomsoft’s proprietary and private engine developed by myself), I’ve also been diving back into Siris as part of my rediscovery process. It’s been a while, last time I toyed with Siris was pre-pandemic, so I’m going over the features to jog my memory.

Siris is a “Universal Object-Oriented Graphics Editor” that I co-created. Though honestly, my role was more like a power user—I mostly tested versions and pushed for features I wanted.

Siris isn’t being developed anymore, but it’s still a reliable tool that works great for a variety of projects. I’m pretty sure I can fold what we built into my current game dev pipeline. There’s a ton of potential there.

Here’s a tutorial I put together years ago… and now I’m the one learning from my own course, mwe-he.

You can find Siris here; the showcases are really worth a look: https://sir.is/en/

I’ll share more on my Siris experiments as I make progress.
