I just got back from a 4 AM walk, headphones on, listening to game soundtracks. The air was satisfyingly cold (sweater weather already), and the longer nights are slowly setting in as the sun slips away earlier each day. Honestly, that’s exactly how I like it! Little by little, I can feel myself slipping back into my game developer persona.

Sure, there might still be one last burst of heat (the so-called “Indian Summer”), since summer officially lasts until September 21. But after that, autumn really takes over with its beautiful colors and the sweet scent of chimneys in the air. Paradise on earth!
Summer Recap
Productivity-wise, this summer wasn’t exactly my strongest season (see my previous blog post if you want the backstory).
That said, I still managed to plan plenty of side work for game dev; things like documentation, story design, and background planning.
Starting this September, I’m gearing up to work relentlessly on my game projects all the way through May. That’s always been my most productive window. Yup, for me, the real grind happens once the weather cools down.
Eyes on the Horizon
On the practical side, I’m in a much more comfortable spot financially than before, which takes a big weight off.
The one thing I’m hoping for now is steady health. My mom passed away from cancer at 48, and I’ll be reaching that same age next month. It’s been on my mind a lot, especially since I’ve been dealing with some lingering issues since 2021. But I’m determined to turn things around: more long walks, maybe a gym membership for light workouts, and cooking at home now that I’m cutting way back on food deliveries. All of this should free up more energy and focus for game dev. Finally!
Onward, one frame at a time.
I don’t want to create too much hype until things are more secure, but I know I’ll need to grow my presence in certain online circles, and maybe even reach out to the press.
The next phase definitely has to include audio and visual milestones. Getting some footage out there would be a great step forward, hopefully by mid-autumn.

As for a release date, I don’t want to box myself into a deadline and risk another missed release. I’d rather focus on making my toolset truly solid and flexible, then build from there. For now, I’ll let the first few weeks of autumn set the pace. After that, I’ll settle on a release date, once the game is firmly in its final phase.
All I can say before I wrap up today is that I love the current vibe. 2025 already feels like my best year in a decade.
That’s it for now. Back to the code cave!
