The following blog post acts like a dev journal and also carries the personal thoughts of Elder Prince, founder of Blossomsoft Games.

Here’s an interesting fact. I was a writer before I became a game developer. At 14, I started crafting short stories, and by 25, I began dwelling in game development.
Telling stories has always been a part of me, and the plot many of you loved in Eternal Eden came from that passion. Deep down, I know including books under the Blossomsoft label is the right move.
Why not before?
The reason I never pursued writing earlier is because, as a native French speaker from Quebec, the market for French writers isn’t very promising, and I didn’t feel confident aiming for the English market. After all, Eternal Eden was often criticized for its poor sentence structure, and the same happened with the first version of “Dechentreiter Thing,” despite both receiving good reviews for their creative aspects.
While editors are essential for polishing the final product (even for legends like Stephen King or Isaac Asimov), I’ve never been fond of the delays and communication barriers between the writer and editor. I prefer to edit and see changes in real-time rather than waiting. Of course, quality editing services also come at a high cost.
Why now?
The rise of large language models like ChatGPT has changed everything. That’s why I’m seizing this opportunity now. I still write the story from start to finish, sentence by sentence, but I use AI as a smart tool, like an advanced Grammarly. This way, I can ensure the final result sounds natural to native English speakers.
Faster than games
We all know that creating games is an extremely complex endeavor. After all, a game combines storytelling, visuals, audio, and mechanics. It’s a daunting challenge that often requires a steady income stream to succeed. This has been a major reason for my financial struggles and constant project delays.
Book projects can be released on time more easily than games, making them a more feasible source of income to help fund the main game projects.
